Are you new to Bible journaling and trying to decide which Bible you should use? If the New Living Translation is your preferred Bible translation there are a lot of journaling Bibles to choose from. Today, I am going to share with you 8 beautiful NLT journaling Bibles for beginning Bible journalers.
For each book, I have tried to find the best deal, and so some links are to Amazon and some are to Christianbook. Of course, what is on sale today might not be on sale when you read this, so I would encourage you to check both sources and also the publishers themselves for whichever Bible you are interested in.
1. The One Year Chronological Bible Creative Expressions
I was only able to find the hardcover version of this Bible on Christianbook, as Amazon said it wouldn’t be in stock until June.
The One Year Chronological Bible Creative Expressions, Hardcover
This Bible is the type of NLT journaling Bible I have, and I actually bought it because it has 365 daily readings of the Bible. Each day’s reading focuses on a particular moment in history and takes you through the Bible in the order that the events occurred. For example, if you read about an event that takes place in King David’s life you will read correlating scriptures throughout the Bible on that day’s reading.
I like it because I have my daily reading ready, space to write notes about that reading, or Bible journal if I want.
It has 2-inch lightly lined margins and over 100 scripture line-art illustrations. And it also has a 10-point font, which I personally really like. What can I say…I am getting old, lol!
And the edges of the pages have beautifully illustrated page edges. If you look below at the Instagram picture you can see the lightly floral illustration that makes up the edges of the Bible pages.
This Bible is available as a hardcover or softcover. I have the hardcover and love it. Sure, it’s a little bit big of a Bible, but I use it just for journaling so it stays at home and the size doesn’t bother me.

And here are some examples of what this Bible looks like inside.

2. The One Year Bible Expressions
This Bible is very similar to the first Bible on this list except each’s days assigned Bible reading has portions from the Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms, and Proverbs.
Like the Bible above, it is also in the New Living Translation. It has 9-point font and also has 2-inch wide margins that are lightly lined. And there are over 100 scripture line-art illustrations.
This Bible also has beautifully illustrated page edges.
It also has two ribbon markers that make it helpful to mark where you are reading.
There are hardcover and softcover versions available.

3. NLT THRIVE Creative Journaling Devotional Bible
Tyndale House Publishing has a wonderful NLT journaling Bible called the THRIVE Creative Journaling Devotional Bible. It includes 365 daily devotionals and 365 focused daily prayers by Sheri Rose Shepard meant to encourage and challenge the reader.
Each day’s reading also includes a key scripture, a love letter from God, and a Treasure of Truth from author Sheri Rose Shepard.
And this journaling Bible has double-column, extra-wide, lightly ruled margins which leaves plenty of room for journaling.
Also, each book of the Bible has an introduction, high-quality cream-colored Bible pages for journaling. There are also 31 character profiles included.
There are two different covers available, a soft leather-look teal over hardcover and a hardcover version with blue flowers.
I was only able to find the hardcover version on Christianbook at the time I wrote this, but as I said before since supply issues seem to be so problematic lately, I would check around.

FYI, there is another THRIVE Devotional Bible available. It looks like a wonderful Bible but it does not have wide margins for journaling. The title is almost exactly the same but it is missing Creative Journaling in the title. So just make sure when you purchase your Bible it is the Creative Journaling version. Otherwise, the Bibles are almost exactly the same.

Moreover, this Bible is great if you are like me…a beginning artist or even if you have a lot of experience as an artist.
This Bible is also available as a hardcover, softcover, and a Large-Print version, which has an 11-point font.
